Gavin Industries was started out of a passion for creation. Ever since I was young I wanted to know how things worked.
I’ve spent the last 16 years as a full time Automotive Technician. Learning from a young age how to use tools to repair cars and trucks expanded into repairing and assembling just about anything. I’ve worked on boats, motorcycles, dirt bikes, chainsaws, lawnmowers, computers, 3D printers, appliances, industrial machines, you name it.
My passion for repairing things has evolved into creating things from raw materials, or from scratch, as many would say. Once you start going down the road of creation, every tool that expands your ability to do so, is a lesson. Something as simple as a woodworkers hand plane can take a lot of shop time to master. Industrial or computer aided manufacturing equipment requires great skill in learning both the machine and the computer software used to run it. Creating can get pretty exciting once you have learned enough skills, tools and computer programs. Any one project can call on a myriad of disciplines to complete one assembly. I find it all absolutely fascinating, and I’m learning and growing better on a daily basis.
The picture on the right is me on my wedding day. I used the drill to seal a love letter/wine box I made as part of our ceremony. I like this photo a lot because it sums me up quite well. I can be serious and professional while having fun and making people laugh. Life is short, you have to enjoy it.
